 My Story

In 1996 I was a dedicated student of martial arts. I loved the philosophy, dedication, and deep spiritual nature of martial arts, but there seemed to be something missing.
 
Someone suggested I try yoga. During my first class, standing in Warrior I, my mind was racing. What was I doing just standing here? Is this all yoga is? It just didn’t click with me. But there was something about yoga in general that made me want to find out what I was missing.

The connection came during my third class. My realization that “oh, this is why I’m standing here!” was so profound that there was no looking back. Slowly I phased out of the rough, hyper martial arts that left me bruised at the end of the day and softened to the inner connection of yoga.

Five years of practicing Kripalu Yoga and I knew that it was a gift I wanted to share with anyone who was interested. I set out to gain my 200-hour training to do just that.

My Classes

I interweave breath work, meditation in motion, yogic philosophy, and anatomy in each of my classes. My classes are mostly in the tradition of Kripalu Yoga, but I have taken the parts of other traditions that I love so much to create a well rounded class. My classes are safe and effective for every age and every body type.
